How BorrowBay works
BorrowBay lets people in Solapur rent cameras, vehicles, tools, electronics and furniture from each other. Here's everything a new user needs — borrowing, listing, verification, deposits and support.
How renting (borrowing) works
Four steps from finding an item to giving it back.
1. Find an item
Browse a category, search, or open the map to see what's available near your area of Solapur. Filter by max ₹/day and sort by price, newest or rating.
2. Send a booking request
Pick your dates on the listing. Already-booked dates are blocked automatically. You'll see the exact rent, the refundable deposit and the total before you confirm.
3. Owner approves, you coordinate
The owner approves or declines. Once approved, chat in-app (or on WhatsApp/call if the owner shares contact details) to fix a pickup time and place.
4. Return and review
Return the item on the end date — or request an extension from your dashboard. The booking auto-completes after the end date, your deposit comes back, and you can leave a review.
How listing your item works
Anything sitting idle at home can earn. Listing takes about three minutes.
1. Pick a category & add photos
Choose Cameras, Vehicles, Electronics, Tools or Furniture, then upload clear photos. Good, well-lit photos get far more requests.
2. Set price & deposit
Enter your daily rate in ₹ and a refundable security deposit. Add your area in Solapur so nearby renters can find you on the map.
3. Manage availability
Block dates you need the item yourself from Dashboard → Availability. Blocked and already-booked dates never show as bookable.
4. Approve requests & get paid
Requests arrive in your dashboard with a notification. Approve, hand over the item, collect rent and deposit, and mark it complete on return. Edit or delete a listing anytime.
How verification works
Verification is what makes a neighbourhood marketplace safe to use.
1. Upload your ID
In your dashboard, open the verification card, choose a document type — Aadhaar, PAN or Passport — and upload clear photos of the front and back.
2. Admin review
An admin checks that the name and photo match your profile. Documents are stored privately and are visible only to admins, never to other users.
3. Get your badge
Approved accounts show a Certified badge on listings, profiles and booking requests. Members with good reviews also earn a Trusted member badge.
